Orangeries gained popularity in Italy during the 18th century, and they provide a timeless alternative to the more common conservatory, the main difference being the layout of the the roof glass. Where conservatories usually feature an entirely glazed roof, orangeries use a solid roof with a central 'lantern' to allow sunlight to enter.
This provides a less invasive, softer feel to the interior and allows additional lighting to be installed in the roof, rather than the walls. The outside walls of an orangery are also different with the fenestration being part of the fascia rather than the whole structure, making the orangery a more private, intimate space. An orangery can provide a more subtle addition to the home as there is usually more brickwork, helping it to become a natural extension of the adjoining property.
Creative Windows provide free, no-obligation quotes to help customers create the ideal orangery. The structure can be built from a variety of materials and finishes including uPVC and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), and the design is tailored to fit in with the requirements of the customer and the property.
As no two properties are the same, Creative Windows are happy to visit homes in the Bedford and Milton Keynes areas to discuss requirements with the customer. Work undertaken exceeds BSI standards and is fully insured.
All work is compliant with building and planning regulations, and the structure is designed to be weather-resistant and durable.
